Will a 1990 chevy 3.1 liter engine fit into a 1988 chevy truck?

I have a perfectly good 3.1 liter engine sitting in a wrecked 1990 chevy lumina. I also have a transmission from a 1990 chevy s-10(automatic), and I have a 1988 chevy truck that needs an engine and transmission. I was just wondering if I had a combination that might work.
 
You can fit any engine into any car. It depends on what tools, how much money and time you have. This combination sounds like it might not take too much work. Remember though; you will need to swap all the electronic components (the computer) over to the new vehicle.
 
it would work but the bolts wont line up. youll probably need to find someone (unless you can) who can weld brackets onto the transmission to drill the new holes and tap them.
