Here's some geometry of HD High Bars and 12.5" Chubbs on an 02 Road King. The measurments are relative as they were all scribed with the bike on the sidestand. The spot marked "sweet spot" is where the center of the center of the gip ended up with the new bars. Turns out the pullback increased about 1 3/4" over high bars and my reach is further with the apes so its like virtual pullback. Love the ride with the apes... If I did it again, I would go 13 or 14".

6' 0" with 33" inseam. I wear a tall shirt for the arm length. The 518's are a great fit for me. Since you have a RK be sure to think about fitment if you ever add a detach fairing with apes. +1 on the Carlini drag-bag bars. They are sweet looking.

6'1",34 inseam.Have 16" L.A.Choppers which are a little wider and less pull back than the wild1 16's.Had the wild1 12.5's on my old fatboy.Love them apes.
FWIW,i ride with the bars forward somewhat w/o the shield.When i ride with the shield i have to adjust the bars back some to accomodate the shield,takes 2 seconds.
 
I had the 508's on my '07 Road King Classic and really liked the look. The angle of the grips was a bit too "wheelbarrow" for me, but after getting used to them, they were quite comfortable. Sat me straight up, which was pretty comfortable for the long ride.
 
I have 518's now, but will be going to the 517's in the near future. I like the 18's, but I have a strange body. 6"1' 32" inseem and 33" reach long torso'd. There fine for riding but I want my hands a little closer together and a bit farther back....................the 517 fits the bill.

Just a thought.
