Yes, you need the boomerang first. You can then target those four towers in a "Z" order like on the floor and the door will open.

go to that dude's little house in the middle of the lake. you gotta pay 10 rupees to get in, he will shoot you up to the top level towards hyrule field. once there you can just walk to the castle. i think you need to enter the town from the east.

Re fishing pole: Talk to Colin's mom in town and she'll mention that Colin is making one for Link which he can get "tomorrow." I think you need to do the herding task, and then Colin will wait outside your lodge the next day and tell you he has it at home.

Cat: Find the cat and start fishing on that little dock. When fishing, just pretend you're using a bobber on a stick when you're using your wiimote. Catch a fish, and then you're golden.

Monkey: There is a guy you can z-target to talk to that is up on a plateu by the big body of water. Get up to him and you can call a hawk from the leaf near him; snipe the monkey.

The hawk doesn't do anything, I can't get to the Monkey and the Cat runs away from me.

ive been thinking about using it, you can go back and get it again after you do use it. (if you got yours on death mountain) and theres something similar thats in the east end of the garudo desert, and i THINK you can go and get that whenever you please.
