WTF is Super Probotector

edit:

lol who the fuck came up with the alt name for conta 3?

edit #2:

"At some point, Konami decided that perhaps its action-oriented game Contra was just a bit too violent to the European market. So, instead of human commandoes, European players got to control humanoid robots as they fought against the reign of evil. The bad guys, too, were altered to be mechanical in nature, rather than anything resembling human. Thus, the Contra become Probotector. So how did this happen? No one quite knows for sure."

Yeah Nintendo used to be very strict on violence in video games.

Alot of things vary from America to Europe.

Like Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles is called Teenage Mutant Hero Turtles over in Europe.

meh, fuck the VC.

I thought it was really cool at first, but its not implemented well.

Thing is, I'm really not going to play older games on my TV. BUT I do like to play them on portable systems. Nintendo should have included a way to play the old games (at least the 8 and 16 bit ones) on the DS. it would be easy. simply release a DS cart with the same emulator software thats on the Wii, and lots of free space. allow the Wii to send your downloaded games to your DS via wifi. And drop the prices signifigantly.

SOny, on the other hand came out with a playstation 1 emulator and a way to buy games on your PS3 and play them on your PSP (an official PS1 emulator is included in PSP firmware 3.02). they released 5 not so great PS1 games for this, at $5.99 (nintendo charging $5 for 20 year old NES games in simply unnacceptable in light of this). sounds Ok, nothing great because none of the great PS1 games were released as of yet.

but then a couple short weeks later, the PSP homebrew community, specificically a guy with the online name Dark_Alex came out with a hacked version of the firmware, called 3.02OE-B that allows you to convert disk images of YOUR OWN PS1 GAMES (or ones downloaded online for the unscrupulous pirates among us ) The majority of games work perfectly or nearly perfectly, since this is an official Sony emulattor that has been hacked, not a homebrew emulator.

On top of that, with these new hacked firmwares, you can do mostly everything you can do on the 1.5 firmware, which means homebrew support, which means emulators, which means you can play NES, SNES, Genesis etc games FOR FREE. now of course, homebrew emulators dont always work 100% and can be a bit buggy, but for the most part these work well on the PSP. also, with the new firmwares you can play ISOs of new PSP games (more piracy )

so basically, with a hacked PSP, you can play NES through PS1 games as well as PSP games FOR FREE.

however, the DS continues to rape the PSP in sales, and rightfully so. Because if you use the PSP as Sony wants you to (as the majority of PSP owners most likely do) it sucks and has like 5 or less good games. Where as the DS has alot of good and innovative games.

Basically nintendo stands to bring a better working alternative to 8 and 16 bit emulation on the PSP to its already huge DS audience, I dont know why this hasnt been done.

fucking tank still hasn't even added me

I feel so hurt

I bought 2 the other night at Game Crazy or whatever it was, there was 1 in Target a few minutes ago when I was in there. I don't really know why I bought the 2nd one, I don't really foresee the wife or even my daughter playing some of the old stuff. It's just sitting on a shelf right now.
