Wii graphics look better than Xbox1? I think not! v.PICS ***56K DIE***

I hope you get your ass banned for trolling. The Wii tech specs prove that it is slightly more powerful then the origional Xbox. Enough said, no debating it because it is a true fact. Comparing games from later on in the life of the xbox to launch Wii games is a pathetic attempt at trolling. Comparing games to TP (a game developed for the GC therefore lacking in ways for what the Wii is capable of doing) is another pathetic attempt.

Well its too bad nintendo could'nt have been bothered they are too busy cashing in on their sales to care about pushing the hardware capabilities.
Even Xbox 1 offered decent multiplayer on all its games at launch.
Halo 16 player LAN anybody?

Who cares about graphics/gameplay?! People who want to buy a Wii will buy a Wii, people who want to buy an XboX 360 or PS3 will buy one. In actuality, most gamers will have at least two of the three. You guys are like seven year-olds in a sandbox, who gives a damn, play your games and get over it,

RE4 is quit a bit different (read much better) that older RE games. It's worth picking up. PS: there are no limited saves in RE4 (but still typewriters)

Too bad you're a nintendo fanboy and cant answer my question.
Im not trolling, Im trying to point out a very obvious fact that nobody here has seemed to understand.

You are however wrong about the hardware, the original xbox still has dual pixel shaders, something the Wii lacks.
I already stated that I'd be happy for anybody to show me pics or vids of upcoming wii games that match the Xbox launch games in graphics but so far nobody has tried.

By the way, I didnt start the Zelda vs Xbox discussion in case you havent even bothered to read the replies I was merely responding to a forum post stating zelda looked better than any launch xbox title which is infact blatantly wrong if you are talking technical terms.

Now stop having a hissy fit and try and have a proper discussion.

I never said gameplay only matters... but it certainly takes priority over graphics as Nintendo have almost always proven.

Not many people give a fuck about the hardware when the games are this fun, it seems like only certain fanboys do.

You're just shitty cause you cant honestly prove me wrong with evidence there are better looking Wii games out there.
So I'm a troll is your obvious scapegoat.

This thread is fucking hilarious. Comparing screenshots taken from different sources with varying quality and screenshots of pre-rendered cut scenes to justify a console's graphical ability.......

I am FAR from being a Nintendo Fan boy. If anything I'm a Sony Fanboy but won't be buying a PS3 for years to come. I don't care to prove you wrong, I don't care to prove you right. From a technical standpoint the Wii is more powerful then the Xbox. And it is hard arguing with someone who is trolling since they tend to ignore the facts that hurt their argument

Uh no, the Wii is slightly more powerful than the Xbox, I just proved this. There shouldnt be any difference in graphics quality (only slight). Its up to the developers to design good games, the Xbox had 5 years, the Wii had had a few weeks. Give it time.

And once again, the 360 has had a 1 year headstart. More games on the 360? Well thats why...

Give third party developers a chance on the Wii (most of them havent even started yet) and I can guarantee some awesome games are coming out within a year.

There arent any, you're right. Wii owners dont have a 5 year catalogue of games to look through to compare.

Ok well with this genius logic I could just as easily say that the SNES is better then the 360 because it has more games that are fun the the 360. Sure it had a hell of a lot more time on the market then the 360 has had, but why would I want to even consider that before making my argument?

You're absolutely right. You just compared a LAUNCH xbox game to EVERY SINGLE GAME NINTENDO WILL EVER MAKE ON THE WII. Get a life. There will be some pretty games on the Wii, but you'll be too busy getting a hard-on for the latest version of DOA Volleyball.

I still think the DS stands as proof that a different control scheme can be a selling point that works well. I doubt Nintendo goes 5 years without updating the Wii. They're already planning on releasing one next year that has DVD playback.

You missed my argument. I said the same damn thing - Nintendo is making money on consoles (something Sony definitely isn't doing and Microsoft wasn't doing for a long while) while holding a price tag below it's two competitors. That decision is genius for the company and will make a difference in future development.

Nintendo wanted to strip the system down for two reasons: to lower the price tag and to so it would be a tiny, portable system that could fit into a little nook in your entertainment center. Compare the original XBox to the Wii and you'll see the advantage of having a Wii in terms of space.

The only real drop-off in sales was in America. They were doing alright elsewhere in the world. I don't see what you mean about the GCN being a different approach. With the GCN, they tried to compete directly with Sony and Microsoft and that didn't work so hot for them. The two wise moves that came from the GCN were the introduction of the Wavebird and the decision to get off cartridges.

I'm aware HDTVs are the way of the future. I even mentioned that the US is switching over to an entire HD broadcast scheme in February 2009, where analog signals are prohibited.

My argument is that the time still isn't right for Nintendo. The people who own PS3s clearly have a decent amount of disposable income if they can afford one. I would expect this group to be very likely to own HDTVs. The XBox 360 crew is harder to predict on the matter, but I'm sure there's a decent amount of people who own HD TVs.

Nintendo clearly isn't concerned with graphics right now. They don't NEED to add in 1080 support currently with the titles available. Additionally, the slightly lower price tag means more lower income families are probable to buy one, and I can guarantee you most of that group doesn't own an HD set. It's a useless feature for the Wii currently.

Like I said, I imagine that the Wii will be re-released with some better HD output in the future to go along with DVD playback. Price cuts may keep the system around the $250 range, or it may increase it to $300. Who knows? In the status quo, Nintendo doesn't need to worry about HD.

The 360 has been out for over a year and has the advantage of having more titles out. Other than that, I don't really see why the 360 is more fun. I prefer the PC's mouse/keyboard to control my FPS games (which tends to lead to graphics that are far superior to your sacred 360), and other titles are what they are... derivative of basic genres. I find games like Katamari Damacy (PS2) more entertaining than Halo 2 or Rainbow Six or various EA Sports titles, so my tastes probably differ a lot from yours.

I do want to try Gears of War though, that seems awesome. That's about the only title I'm interested in playing on the 360. Hell, after God knows how many years of Madden, I got really bored with it. It's nice to take a break with the Wii version for a while.

what a load of rubbish, Nintendo tried to outdo PS2 in graphics and hardware with the Cube and look where it got them... fucking last place!
Incase you havent noticed, right now 360 offers the best graphics and gameplay focussed games out of any system. Yeah its been out longer but that still doesnt hide the fact its the truth so all you nintendo fanboys should just give up on the gameplay excuse like 360 hasnt got any good games.

were any of the wii launch titles actually started as being for the wii?

I know zelda was started for gamecube, so it has shitty gamecube graphics. I am interested to see what they produce on the games made specifically for the wii.

IMO, the graphics are terrible, everything is super blurry. I have a 46" dlp TV though and am still waiting on my component cables, so that probably doesn't help much.

however, in zelda, wii sports and monkeyball, the gameplay more than makes up for it. I can only think of three times that I have been so involved in 1 player and party games

1. FFVII
2. Metroid: the return of samus
3. GT3

Thats if it actually happens.
I dunno I'm just skeptical because I've been burnt by Nintendo many a times in the past.
The Wii could end up going the way of the N64 of the GCN.
Sure you may say thats not possible but people said that about the gamecube and look it pretty much went down the toilet 1/2 through its life cycle.
