Sony is in deep trouble with the PS3. They have outpriced themselves. I wouldn't count on the prices dropping anytime soon, either, because they're already losing over $200 per unit. (Smarter) gamers will turn elsewhere, i.e. the Wii and the XBOX 360, if they realize their money is better spent elsewhere. If Sony is unable to retain it's fanbase, developers will shop their exclusive licenses elswhere, and that will be the final nail in the coffin for PS3. Without developer support and exclusive games, they have absolutely nothing. 8 processors processing crap is still 8 processors processing crap.
Conversely, the Wii is selling like hotcakes, will likely continue to sell like hotcakes, developers will take note and bring along their games with them. If the DS is any indication, the Wii will offer a gameplay experience not available with the other guys. Will it last? It would take a major disaster for it to not.
