Wii Composite vs. Component Picture comparison ***Pics***

your cable box doesn't have an hdmi? that sucks

right now i'm using an hdmi for my cable box, hdmi for my dvd player, and component for my x360. when i get the Wii i guess it'll be time to say goodbye to the x360

my reciever upconverts thru component, I wonder if I could achieve the same results going composit in-component out? I dont wanna buy expensive propietary cables

No. It will play as clearly as the weakest link in the chain. So if you had component between your Wii and your VCR, but only RCA between your VCR and you're TV, you're just wasting your time.

Chances are, if you don't have composite inputs to your TV, then your tv won't do 480p anyway.

are all component cables created equal?

i bought the $14.99 set here: http://www.penguinunited.com/?gclid=CMfJoMyE84kCFSW2YAodaUG_Fg

starting to regret not getting the premium set for $27.99. i've heard horror stories from friends about third party accessories tho...mainly mad catz controllers and cables.

I bought the MadCatz component cables for the Wii and I'm still undecided about them. I'm not sure whether its my TV or the cables but if I pause Zelda then click the home button on the wiimote and click on exit, the screen goes black - I have to guess with the wiimote where the 'Yes' button is in order to go back to the main menu, then the TV gets the signal back. This is all in 480p.

Link?

Also, whats up with the monkey ball shot, in the rest of them the picture just gets a bit sharper, in SMB, the color of the car completely changes.

the more wii fans try to get a better looking picture out of their system, the more ps3 sackriders are going to give them hell. I love the wii, despite its rather dated graphics... The PS3 looks awesome during gameplay, but I really haven't had much fun while playing the ps3... I still think the wii/360 would be the best option for me.. considering i would have spent about the same as buying a 60gb ps3
