wii component cables help

so i finally got around to hooking up my component cables to my tv. the tv is a toshiba 61" rear projection hd set capable of up to 1080i. plug the cables in and start it up and its all good. change the settings to 480p on the wii, do an update, and check the settings again. so far so good. pop in zelda and now its fuzzy. a lot of white noise going on in the background. is it my tv or is it my settings?

Does the TV only have 1 component input? If it doesn't, try the other one and see if it does the same thing. If it has mulitiple component ins, try them all and see what happens.

What model is the TV?
 
its got two sets of components, two s video, and one hdmi. and i have no idea what model. i lost the manual the same day i brought her home and all it says on the front is toshiba hd
