i tried to set up my printing on my e70 with my hp5650 printer on my wireless network.

the phone will connect to the network but then say "printing failed"

can anyone help me with the settings, or does anyone know anything about this?

thanks

That is my printer as well:

I have the following settings:

Printer: HP5650

Driver: HP Mobile Printing

Bearer: Socket/ HP JetDirect

Access point: your wi-fi address here Port: your.....

Port: 9100

Orientation, paper size: your choises

BY the way, the manual of the phone tells you to to it diffeently, but it did not work for me.

thanks, i tried those settings but still no dice. is your printer connected directly to your wireless router or is it connected to a computer on your wireless router? thanks for your help man

I also stumbled on this when I tried it. Just left it for later. I haven't tried it since I updated the firmware yet though. The problem I have is that I think my model printer may not be supported as I have an older deskjet. What should be the setting for Host after I select my home access point? Is that the name of the computer that the printer is connected to?

TIA

thats what i thought would be logical, so i entered my exact computer name, which on my mac ends in .local however that seems to be the problem. i have printer sharing on and it seems like the phone cannot find the computer. so i changed the port number to what my computer said was the access point in the firewall, but that still does not work. technically, it should be able to print on a shared printer, right? can some state if they have gotten it to work on a shared printer thats not directly connected to the router?

something tells me the phone isnt smart enough to recognize the printer is connected through a computer. because like i said, the phone connects to the wireless network just fine it seems to have a problem going through the computer... which if you ask me is kinda stupid. then again its very possible im the stupid one whos not smart enough to know the proper settings
