WIFI Connectivity

I have a Nexus One Phone and have no trouble connecting to WIFI most of the time, whether open or protected. However, my home network is protected by only allowing devices with MAC addresses registered on my Linksys router. This works well for all devices save my Nexus One Android Phone.

It never succeeds in obtaining an IP address. Instead, it "remembers" the network without attaching to it. Is there a bug in the Android operating system relating to broadcasting its MAC address?

Hi rejesurum and welcome to the AC forums.

My home WiFi is MAC restricted too. A network device wouldn't be able to connect to any network if without a MAC address. It's a core requirement for TCP/IP networking.

My guess would be the MAC of the phone has been entered into the router's Allow list incorrectly.

You could check if it's a MAC issue by turning off MAC filtering and seeing if the phone connects then.
