Wife due any day, switching to blue cross insurance, pre-existing condition?

Medicaid will reevauate your ability to retain thier insurance within thier guildlines, if you didnt report the changes in the time frame *usually 10 days after getting your first pay check, its fraud.
Swith to? You said your making good money, you dont qualify and neither does she or the kids. You might be in that gray zone, only BCBS can answer these questions, dont be afraid to ask, demand to ask. Im guessing you will have zero coverage for this pregnancy and be paying for the upcoming events. Ask if at least will the baby once born will be covered. I have read, that children not added at the proper enrollment period by mistake kept the parents from utilising their insurance for the child.
No they do not have to. Insurance has to follow state law. Your state. Then they have thier own plans/policy regulations too. Call asap and make sure your not committing fraud with Medicare.UI must recieve notice of work performed whether you recieved payment or not. Medicaid may follow that in thier questionaire, OR they may have it worded, and changes to family income, so that once you get your first paycheck, and know the exact gross amount, thats when they want to be notified. Also, they are so overburdened, you may need to go into thier office to find out how it will affect you and yours, and not wait for mail, which may say, you were disqualified at a date longer back then you knew and are racking up bills, and will have upset providers who didnt recieve any payment due to the slow responses from Medicaid.
You may luck out and be able to keep the Medicaid longer than expected too, so its worth the time to go to the office early in the morning and request to see your worker and get up to date information so you can plan on what to expect. The way Fed/State aid figures it, birth control was available and you failed to use it, so they really shouldnt have to pay for your mistakes, you should be financially responsible, and make payments to the providers right.

The long version is, My wife and 1 year old son had to go on medicaid last year due to my being laid off from work, I am not proud of this at all, don't get me wrong. I never wanted to have to put them on that but was forced to, due to being un-employed.

She got pregnant again, back in March and is due within the next 2 weeks, A month ago I started a new job, making alot of money, and wasn't eligible for insurance, Now the company has been bought out by a bigger one who is offering us coverage now. But, my questions are:

With medicaid, do we lose coverage as soon as I got the higher paying job, or do they have to cover until I am eligible for insurance there?

And, if we do switch to BCBS do they have to cover her being pregnant? If I had more time, i'd be alittle better off, but with only 2 weeks, I am kinda in a situation.

Call the HR dept for your employer and you may need to call BCBS. They should be able to tell you if your wife's pregnancy would be covered under the BCBS plan.

Since she's pregnant, she still qualifies for medicaid. There's a type of "pregnancy medicaid" so your wife will be okay. I have BCBS and Medicaid for secondary insurance. They cover what my insurance doesn't.

Have fun w/ the new baby!
