Wicker Man - sequel Cowboys for Christ

There is a sequel being planned for the Wicker Man called Cowboys for Christ.

It is written by the original Wicker Man director Robin Hardy and also reunites some other people from the team who were involved in the making of that film...

Last year there was a dreadful Hollywood remake, set in America - which Robin Hardy was desperate to distance himself from, and he infact called in lawyers to make sure his name was not associated with it.

The Wicker Man is such a cult superstar. Although this is not a remake or sequal as such, it revisits the location and the subject matter.

Is it wise to go back there, even by the original makers? Or should sleeping effigies lie...

I think it should be left alone now.

If a sequel was to be made then it should have been done soon after the original, where the likes of Christopher Lee, Britt Ekland, Ingrid Pitt ...etc could have reprised their roles as they were then, not thirty odd years later with a new cast.

Not another one, even though its not exactly a remake like the awful version Nicholas Cage made worse, it will still be terrible.

The 1973 is one of my favourite films of all time. It is brilliant because it is timeless. I really don't understand the need to the meddle with it any further, with any means. Can they not just leave the film alone?

I just cannot believe the original director wants to do anything more with it.

This just sounRAB like an updated version creeping on the Christian virtues which were the very essence of the original. I don't like the sound of it at all.

I agree if this film was have meant to happen it would have by now (originally).
Going by the remake (AWFUL), I think they should leave this one well alone.
