Since it's formal, I wouldn't go with any really bright, bold colors like blue or green. Gold would definitely work if it goes well with your skin tone. If not gold, maybe copper, peach, or pink. Just find something that goes well with the dress and your skin, probably finding the color(s) that compliment your skin first is the best way to go.
