Wicca: is medicine against nature?

Hello all,
In Wicca, there is the belief that nature is supreme (I too believe this).
But, if a person held a Wiccan faith, but was in need of medicine, would the Wiccan believer decline the medicine because of beliefs?
Obviously is the medicine is herbs, then it won't be declined. But what if it was something that was created by Scientists in a lab?

If the illness is beyond herbs to cure, of course the person will use modern medicine to help...usually they will also use herbs in conjunction with any medical treatment. Only the most hardheaded would refuse to be properly treated...and that goes for Wiccans and certain faiths that believe "only God heals" as well.

There's much to be said for herbs, prayers, spells, faith, what have you, but it's only sense to have proper medical care.

In Wicca all is accepted Science and Myth. Herbal medicine and synthesized medicines from a lab.

In that it harms none do what you will.

A tall order if none include the ant and the person. Doing one thing hurts another. Doing nothing hurts the person and It must harm none. so the Reade is impossible to follow but it is a goal. To live in balance with the harm caused and the harm prevented

Speaking as a Wiccan for over 20 years, I do not believe that nature is supreme. That's nonsense. Where in Wicca does it say that?

That being said, it is natural for humans to create things. We're not even the only species that does. It would be unnatural for humans to not create things, and unnatural for humans to not use what they've created.

That being said, if you (like me) have an herb garden, most of your herbs were bred by humans, they aren't in their natural form, and they are planted in places they don't naturally grow.

One things Wicca does teach, and always has, is that you need to use the right cure for the right ill. Not every tradition puts it that clearly, but, for example, you would not use a newspaper to keep the rain off of you if you had an umbrella in your hand.

No, it is not. Where do you think scientists get the raw materials for compounds created in the lab? Everything ultimately comes from nature. And where did the intelligence to create those medicines come from? We've gotten where we are by using these marvelous brains we've developed through evolution. It is the most distinctive thing about humanity. Why would we deny it? Or think it unnatural?

Wicca is not anti-science and never has been. Like ALL things, it should be practiced responsibly, with thought as to repercussions. (pollution from industry, use of resources, side effects of drugs, etc.) But Wicca has never said "if you didn't pluck it straight out of the ground, it's bad."

And what do you mean that "nature is supreme." Supreme over what? It's a nice sound bite, but what does it actually mean to you?

Also, clearly neither of us has a problem with computers. Computers are just as fabricated as drugs made in a lab.

May be that is true in some cases and it leads to against the nature....
I think that many of the persons won't need any medicine and get cure with out any medication...
