Why would Verizon do this? Are you done with Verizon as your phone company?

I had just broken up with my wife. She moved out. I had a few beers. I called a 900 number. It was an expensive call. When I got the bill in the mail, I paid for the charges. Verizon resold my long distance to MCI. This was after I paid for the long distance charges to Verizon who was my long distance carrier at the time. Then while I am at work, MCI tried to call me, during the day on my home phone wondering why I had made such an expensive call. They made more than one attempt to call me but never left a single voice mail regarding the reason for calling.
I got a letter in the mail from MCI, telling me that they were my new long distance carrier. They told me that they questioned the reason for such a large bill for a long distance call. Apparently being in the telephone business for so many years, they did not know that 900 services are charged over long distance carrier charges. And quite frankly, the call was made before they slammed, took over my long distance coverage, therefore it's none of their business who I call and for what reason I call. I paid my long distance bill and MCI had not reason to block my long distance coverage.
I blame both Verizon and MCI for this customer service blunder. I am switching over my phone service to cable. I have had it with the big phone companies. If I had a dollar for every inept customer service rep I saw sleeping at their desks when I worked there I could have retired on it.
I have seen the ads with the Superman guy who comes out and wows the kid with his wires. I called the real Verizon and they told me it would take a month before someone could come out and repair the static in my line. There is no Fios fiber optic plans for my area and that is where Verizon is concentrating their efforts. Apparently, customers like me do not matter to Verizon, so guess what, Verizon doesn't matter to me.They resold my long distance service to MCI. Apparently, two hundred dollars in long distance charges paid for is not enough of a bill to keep me on as their customer. Their service is too expensive and Verizon's service sux. I am done with Verizon. I am switching to cable. What about you?

I can save you some time and space so you don't have to rant over the cable company. Most of them don't allow 900 numbers because they will not back bill you.

Same with correctional facilities and collect calls.

Personally, I have all 3, Land line, Cable line, and VoIP(s).
