What's up with employers telling you the old we are looking at other candidates that closely match the skills required for the jobs they seek? I believe there is more to that statement than what employers are saying. For example, two people go and apply for the same jobs. Both people have the exact same skills and qualifications to get the job. Both people have the exact same great high-spirited attitude, which is what employers want in the workplace. They both have the same college degrees needed to get the job. They both showed high enthusiasm to get the job. They both spoke and dressed well for the part at the interview. They both have great references of people who can speak highly of them from their previous jobs. These two people did everything just alike in order to get the job, I mean everything. One person did no more or less from the other person. Now here's the thing, the company can and is able to hire both people for the jobs they look for. The bad news is they end up hiring one over the other. Now I wonder why is that? They give that excuse to the rejected candidate saying they found someone else who more closely meets the requirements for the job. WHAT? ARE YOU KIDDING ME!! After all that you mean one is still better than the other? SAY IT AIN'T SO.
