This is a little bit of a weird scenario. I work at a care home, and recently it was discovered that the thermostats in the some of the resident's rooms had been removed of their mercury, but all the other parts were still present. This was discovered in 22 rooms in the care home. I was just wondering, is there any uses for mercury? Why would they just take the mercury, and leave everything else? Is mercury used in bombs, or in drugs, or is it worth a lot? Please let me know if you have any suggestions.
