Why would somebody pay to have an 'Aux' port built into their 2005 Ford Fiesta

Zetec Climate with no button? I recently bought the car mentioned above, silver Ford Fiesta Climate 1.4L 2005 model. Obviously the original owner bought it custom off of the ford website or something because it comes with the optional 'Aux' port built right in next to the cigarette lighter. The problem is, there is no 'Aux' button on the Audio system? It looks like quite a new Ford system but no button? It's made up of three silver strips, one is the CD player, one is the radio main and the other is the radio buttons is that helps any experts get a picture of what system it is (I think it's the 4500 system maybe?) Any way, why would they do that, and is there any way I can still get my iPod to play without the button? Any help would be greatly appreciated!
And unfortunately just plugging the iPod in and hoping the system auto plays doesn't work :-( Thank you for the idea though!
