why would my ex cheat on his gf for sex with me?

My ex boyfriend and I still remain in contact, we broke up up a awhile ago and he has a gf hes been with for 5 months now. When we were together, we didnt have sex or anything like that. It's been coming up quite alot, we both want to, and today he said "i really want to have sex with you, i do but i care about my gf a lot" (in response to me wanting to get back together if we do)

1. why would he do this if he "cares about his gf alot"?
2. what do you think about this...

and yes i am a virgin, he is not.
 
Don't do it and he probably does not care about his girlfriend, he's just another PLAYER!!! Don't do it you'll regret it!!!

He just wants the title of taking away your virginity. Nothing more. You don't want to start that direction of your life with a guy who's not even yours.
 
lose it to someone who gives a shit about you, he obviouly doesnt if he is willing to cheat on his girlfriend to bang you. losing it is supposed to be special, don't just give it away
