...to the environment? Do you enjoy pollution? You're a fan of mercury in your fish? Please help me understand why pollution is a good thing and we shouldn't take care of the environment, because I'm under the impression that if the Earth dies, we die with it.

You're a environmentalist nut job hypocrite. You sit typing on your keyboard that's made from petroleum byproducts like thousands of other products. I don't see you living in a cave without electricity and your little hybrid cars with rubber tires(petroleum byproduct)that's probably charged with coal generated electricity. Until you do those things then you can shut your mouth.
 
I hate pollution. I think it sucks. We should absolutely take care of the environment. Now let me ask you a question. Is CO2 pollution? If so, why?
 
Reasonable limits on actual real pollution are a good thing. But idiotic ideas like cap and trade, which are little more than a job creation bill for people in China and India is not a good idea. All we will do is move more energy intensive jobs out of the U.S.

Take concrete for instance. It takes a lot of energy to make. When this foolishness becomes law the cost of U.S. made concrete goes up. Somewhere else in the world, someone will produce just as much CO2 to make our concrete and then produce even more CO2 to haul it here. Actually given how much more efficient American businesses are, they will produce even more CO2.

The earth isn't going to die, Cassandra. All the bad that's going to happen is that our government in league with the nation's parasites are going to ruin our economy and drive us all into poverty.
 
I guess you don't mind the rest of our manufacturing base going abroad.

Don't worry, the tax won't be valid in China, where 85% of our goods are made. They are still free to pollute.

Do you really think giving lower income people money from the middle class will correct the problem.

Do you really think taxing companies to POLLUTE will cure the problem.

Pollution is not a great way to treat the planet as i am very anti pollution but would not harm a corporation or employees to voice what is right as it is wrong. Instead pollution bills ,laws should be passed to make companies invest in technology that can break pollution down to the chemical structure that it came from .So remember do not harm companies fight with pollution laws.

Customers pay all costs. Wealthy people will be able to afford it, and poor people will do without jobs if the regulations are too stringent.

We should take care of the environment most people actually live in - the economy

Might be that you are financially secure enough to be unafraid of the costs? You should worry about the desperation of those you would impoverish.
