So, I'm a graduate student in international relations and political science and you are the weirdest, most radical person ever. First of all, it's doubtful you have a doctorate degree in Astrophysics. If you do, then you didn't do very well, because clearly you have enough time on your hands to go on Yahoo! Answers and insinuate that a college program that's been around for centuries was shaped by the current, 101-day old administration to "brainwash" students. That's logical, really, it is - way to use your PhD for the better. Even if it weren't a completely irrational argument, if Obama were to somehow manipulate EVERY educational institute's liberal arts program, that's certainly saying a lot on his part - it would take a mastermind to pull that off.
Additionally, a liberal arts degree is offered mostly for those who are unsure of what they would like major in - I actually know many people in my program who received their B.A. in liberal arts. It's a general degree, and it relates to nearly every social science and liberal arts related field or industry - like social work, psychology, sociology, political science, international studies, even French. Though it wasn't a choice for me, I don't look down on it in any way - they offer the program at Harvard University, UCSD, Columbia (my current institute - but that's probably just a "brainwashed" Ivy League school to your high Caltech standards, ha ha), the University of Chicago and a number of other well-reputed schools - and not all of them are overtly liberal and controlled by the shiny new Obama administration.
Oh, and, actually, saying Obama is trying to push Communism is definitely going a little far - even the best right-wing commentators wouldn't go that far. They claim his agenda stops right at socialism. And, maybe, in some ways, his welfare and social reforms might resemble Sweden or Norway, but in no way is he a supporter of Communism. Look the word up - or, better yet, visit a Communist country so that you can actually experience your accusations. Seriously, come on, Einstein, use that supposedly well educated brain of yours.
