why would anyone donate money to Nadya Suleman's family?

There are a lot of folks who will help her out simply because she chose not to abort her children. That was a political and religious statement she made by deciding to keep them. She chose to give them a chance, so there are folks who will give her a chance.

Expect to see someone give her a home for her and her children. Expect to see large sum monetary donations.
 
The same reason they donate to any multiple birth. I personally don't so don't know exactly what that reason is, but many people with a lot of money do. Considering they're the second octuplets born alive in America ever it seems strange you'd ask in this case, and not the case where people donate to couple with only 5 or 6 children.
