Why would anyone be AGAINST national healthcare???

You're all talk chief.

You made any attempts to end your current gonverments reign? Well guess how they spend a shit-tonne of your money.

You have any arguements, or you just gonna keep coming up with your meaningless opinion? I'm here for a debate. It has turned fairly philosophical. Do you have anything to contribute?

My point is that it is in our own best interest to help other people become productive. I also feel that it is an obligation to improve someone elses state of being if it is realistic to do so. Neither of these are altruistic on my part.

Want to debate?

WOW! That is quite the assumption to base your entire argument off of.

I know many people who are anti-Obama AND anti-McCain. Please don't assume that everyone in the American public supports one of these two assholes.

Because the system is designed to fill the health insurance exec's pockets. the 80% you speak of wont be able to afford the co-pay when the shit hits the fan. Why not make it where EVERYONE gets what they need? How nice would it be to have to worry about getting denied if you ever come down with some expensive shit. How frightened would you be if you ever got diagnosed with something that you could never afford to repair without insurance then you get denied from your precious insurance company for some petty reason all so they could get their extra bonus at christmas? They get a quick vacay to Aspen for the holidays and all it cost was your life. Yeah thats really something to be defending. wtf is wrong with you?

because those are the only 2 choices. What you guys need to start to realize is that washington is full of people who grease their way past regulation with money. These people dont give a fuck about you, me or anyone else in this country. all they care about is a profit increase from the previous year. That mentality doesnt mix at all with medical care. Those who impose national healthcare all say the same thing: too expensive, overcrowding, drop in quality.

but the thing is, you all really dont know shit. weve never had national healthcare so how can you make that call? it seems to work out well for canada, europe and cuba so why wouldnt it work here? you dont want national healthcare because youre covered. but i guarantee you they wont think twice to cut you off when become a slight burden. on national healthcare you will be taken care of until theres nothing they can do. medication shouldnt cost this much, it doesnt in the countries listed above. same quality too. so why is it so expensive? where isall that money going? one thing you can know for sure, that money sure as shit isnt helping your community out. so why defend it?

these excuses you have come up with are what you have been told by the insurance companies so that they can continue this scheme. rule by fear. its age old. do your own research and find out for yourself how bad it is to live somewhere that has national healthcare, think for your fucking selves.

Dont talk to me about IQ when you dont seem to be literate. How many times do i have to tell you that a huge percentage of food in the grocery stores is tainted with preservatives and chemical treatments that our bodies dont know what to do with besides convert to cancer. The huge corporations that grew and grew got that way by devouring small farmers and businesses. That made local grown, untouched food less and less available. Now we shop at national chains to buy the proper meal you speak of. That proper meal is full of extra shit you dont even know youre eating. The nutrients that used to be rampant are now minimal. So let me ask your stupid ass again. Where do you suggest I get a proper meal from?

You're assuming that americans are naturally productive. You HAVE been here, right?

Even Canadian health care is far less accessible than ours in terms of availability when needed.

Yeah, I vote for the least amount of spending in every election - state, local, and federal.

Your opinion is the meaningless one since you don't even live in this country.

That's what YOU think. I think it's in the best interest to keep our health care top rate and keep our waiting lists to a minimum. Which is what is currently happening.

If you think it's so great to help other people, become a doctor that works with charities. Until you put your money where your mouth is, stop trying to put MY money where your mouth is.

Last Tuesday my Father in law went to the doctors. He thought he had a cracked rib from a cold he was having trouble shaking.
The doctor referred him to a different doctor, that doctor referred him to the local hospital for test.
The local hospital decided that his gall bladder needed to come out. He has been at that hospital ever since.

So, my wife and I go in and talk to him and the docs and such.
We are told that his gall bladder will be removed the next day.
Next day comes around and the docs have changed there minds. They now think the gall bladder is fine, just that he is really sick with the flu or something similar.
They now tell us they want to keep him till he starts improving.

The next day they do a bunch of x-rays on him.
After finishing the set of x-rays they determine that he has a ruptured colon.
15 minutes later he was in surgery.
The hospital will keep him for at least another week now.

--------------

There are 2 things that impress me about this story.
The first one is how quickly his sickness was elevated up the treatment ladder.
From the time that he went to his family doctor to the time that he was being admitted into the hospital for gall bladder surgery not even 12 hours passed.

The second is kind of the same thing.
The doctors did that x-ray, realized how serious the problem was and got him in surgery in only 15 minutes.

I read about health care in these other countries with nationalized health care and it sounds to me like it is all a waiting game for these people.
I hear stories of people unable to get in to see a doctor when they need to. I hear stories of people that have to schedule surgery 6 months in advance.
Here in the US if you need surgery - regardless of what kind it is, you can get in asap. Hell, in this country just waiting a week for surgery is considered a long time.

Screw national health care. The system that is in place is working just fine for my Dad in law.

Yay, fuck you if you don't have money. Its your own fault that you don't have money huh? Good job america. McCain says he wants to keep america the same but in fact BO wants to take it back to the way our forefathers wanted it to be really.
