A couple of things here...
First off the word / term "transvestite" is pretty much obsolete these days.. Cross dresser (s) is the acceptable word / term..!!!
Now as for your inquiry - let me say this....
I am a long time married cross dresser with a very supportive, accepting, understanding, knowledgeable, and helpful wife who has taught me all the traits of emulating women from presentation, to walking, standing, sitting, mannerisms, make up, hair, nails etc, and from all of this I have an extensive wardrobe including 42 pair of HIGH HEELS (and I do mean HIGH), and for me, this is a lifestyle. As well, my wife has NO PROBLEM whatsoever with this, and in fact, she even accompanies me to various c/d functions and meetings.
True, there are wives who will not tolerate this situation, and if they knew of their s/o s activities would file for divorce in a heartbeat...
If more wives understood, accepted, and understood, and not right off the top figured their husbands were gay, etc there would be far fewer problems.
Cross dressers are very much misunderstood all due to a lack of wanting to even try listening, and understanding..
P,us there's the fact that MANY cross dresser dress far better than some of the "SO-CALLED" females perambulating around these days..
How many have you seen in ratty jeans / shorts, a disgraceful tee shirt, flip flops, and hair that resembles a domicile for "creepy crawlies" and they say or try to project that they look good...Grab a mirror, sweets, you don't look good...!!!
To be a woman, you have to look like a woman, and if you can't there are several cross dressers that can go you "one better and then some.."
And I'm sure my situation with my very dear and caring wife is not a "unique" situation by any stretch of the imagination, but it is one of knowledgeable persons who UNDERSTAND...!!!
