Why would a man not tell his wife that he had a history of cancer?

Why would a man tell his wife that he had never had cancer, and say he'd had a different medical problem instead, when it was actually cancer?
It's a long story, but it's definitely not an attempt not to worry her, it's something else. What else could it be?
What are some reasons a man would hide a history of cancer from his own wife?
 
that is kinda weird this is the situation ur in right hmmmmm maybe he thought that you wouldnt date him originally because he might get sick and you wouldnt want to stick around to help him thats the only thing i can think of
 
If the condition he made up is less dire then the cancer, maybe he didn't want to seem vulnerable. Some men have problems when they think something will make them look even the slightest bit weak to a woman. He needs to open up to his wife, its part of the job description.
