Why would a man lie to his wife about a history of cancer?

If a man had a history of cancer, why would he lie to his wife about it?

In this situation, it's definitely not that he just doesn't want her to worry, it's something else besides that. (It's a long story).

What reason could he have for lying about this?
I should have said that by "lying" I meant telling her that he didn't have cancer, and saying he'd had a different medical problem.
no, i said it's not because he doesn't want her to worry. that's not it.

Hummmmmmm....I don't know why. That`s kinda weird. I would think he would want her support. Maybe something else is going on. Does he have a mental history too?
