Why would a life-long Democrat not support Obama last year?

Let's say in 2000, this Democrat originally supported Bill Bradley, but voted Gore.In 2004, they supported Kucinich, but voted for Kerry. Even if their first Democratic candidate did not win the nomination, they voted for the Democratic nominee anyway. Someone who is in favor of a progressive tax, pro-choice, civil rights, pro-environment, pro-education. What reason would they have to support John McCain?
 
I wouldn't assume the worst about someone unless they've given you other reasons, but do you think it could be a race thing?
 
Do you mean there was a dem out there who was not afraid to use his or her brain? Amazing. I thought there was nothing.
 
who said they support mccain. they could just be racist. heck thats why tons of people voted obama. cause hes black.
 
Obama is black.I voted Obama, so don't get me wrong. But some people wouldn't vote for him simply because of that reason. Not uncommon. And I don't blame them. It's different and most people aren't used to the idea of having a black president.He isn't one of the ghetto black people that talks like they're from a different country & wears his pants at his knees though, so I had no problem with him. If he did act like that, I for sure wouldn't have.Maybe he'll show black people (& white people who act like that too) how they're supposed to act in order to gain respect.EDIT---Those of you who gave me thumbs down are probably the nasty black people/wiggers that I was talking about. Pull up your pants, learn english, and learn how to sing real songs instead of throwing a bunch of nasty words together and calling it music. You want respect from white people, then act, dress, & present yourself at least somewhat decent.Have a great day! =)
 
McCain is basically a Lib and obama is basically a socialist. McCain was pretty much for abortion, for illegal immigration, against tax cuts and for education. A true Lib would have voted McCain instead of putting a socialist in control of things. IMAO
 
Not all democrats believe the government's job is to provide for them, just most of them.Not all people were ready to vote for a long time self admitted drug user with less than 3 years of experience in politics.
 
It's cause their rcist, my mom voted like that, and she admits it's because hes a different race, it's just the ignorance of most americans.It's pretty messed up if you ask me. :)
 
They probably don't like black people. I over heard a friends mother say "I Don't want one of "Them" to be my president". By they way, love your name. I'm a huge steeler fan. Here we go steelers here we go!

In all honesty, because they were uncertain about a black president. I know so many people who said they couldn't stand McCain, but "at least he is white." It has been a growing experience for a good many voting citizens. A few said Obama was just far too liberal, and that scared them.
 
Obama is still too far left for them. Remember Obama voted more liberal than even admitted socialist Bernie Sanders.
 
simple they dont want a black man in office or somebody would want a woman to be involved. They might hav supported hilary but when she lost in the primary then McCain picked palin they leaned towards the Republican side because of a woman being the potential vice president.
