One Branch wouldn't cash the California State checks but another did so with warm and friendly service. Upon inquiry all I was told was that they (this one branch) had a policy that they had not enforced but were starting to. "The funds are available the next business day", some quick comment about there only being $##### in my account. Then I was asked without prompt, would I like them to close my accounts. This was a rude teller, and a very Glib Manager. Their 800 Customer Service was appauld that I was treated so poorly at their bank and apologized profusely but I never heard back from them or got an answer. Customer Service did say that the checks where guaranteed and they should cash them on the spot. They also gave me the number of the area manager but he is apparently to busy to return my calls. Is there a problem with State of California checks? Should I move to a different Bank? I am thinking that if they said Sorry, the funds are available tommorrow to every customer that walked through the doors with a State check. It would be all over the news.
