Why won't this microSD card work in a Nextel i880?

My boyfriend bought a 4G microSD card for his Nextel i880, and when the card is inserted into the phone, it says "no music found." I had read a few websites online that said that there is a limit as to how many gigs an i880 can support. If that's true, what type of microSD card should we buy that will work in his phone? Thanks!
