Why won't the clutch disengage in this 1976 Jeep CJ5?

It's like the clutch is stuck. We used to be able to 'break it free' by stepping on the pedal again and again until it worked. The linkage on the outside of the tranny looks good, so we figure a new clutch kit will probably fix it. Yes? No?
 
your pressure plate may be bad i had the same thing happen to my truck and yes a clutch kit should fix it
 
there is a connection on the inside of the shift linkage, it may be worn and slipping not allowing the arm of the linkage to pull the clutch plate back
