Why wont my xbox 360 play an xbox 360 game?

I have an xbox 360 and I am trying to play guitar hero 3: Legend's of rock on it. Now this is the second copy I have had. The first copy was a friends, this copy is my cousins. I could play the first copy perfectly, not a hitch. I can't get this copy to work. I've updated the firmware.
