Why wont my Windows media Player work?

i was looking at game trailers on ign.com, this problem has been p'ing me off for a while, id click on a trailer and it would say something about watching it in WMP so i click it, WMP doesnt load it, but the internet page goes to a page saying "Page cannot be displayed" but iv resorted to a Video program called "Veoh" where i download the movies then watch them from that, but it takes up space and downloading is too long i just want a slution where i can get my WMP back to normal
