why wont my samsung instinct s30 read music on my micro sd card?

I have a micro sd card i used to use for my old Virgin Mobile X-Tc. But i just recently got a new Samsung Instinct s30 so i took out the micro sd card from my X-Tc (Which already had about 51 songs on) and put it into my Instinct s30. i go into the music player and it will say scanning card for music, then about 5 seconds later it will load up and nothing will be there in any of the sections (artists, Albums, Songs, Etc.) except for my playlists which only say recently played and Recently added. and the both say (0) songs. My music will not show up anywhere.

I've tried to see if maybe if the card was broken so i tried it on my friends HTC Hero and it worked perfectly.
 
were they MP3 files? I think the X-Tc might work with iTunes...but you should call Virgin Mobile up, and complain your phone has ruined the SD card or something, and maybe they can fix it.
