why won't my samsung brooklyn turn on?

I just bought this samsung brooklyn a few hours ago and now i'm charging it
it doesn't show any sign that it's being charged...i tried to turn the phone on but it didn't respond
and how long do i have to charge it for the first time? i'm dying to play with it :(
i have tried all the plugs in the house but it's still off
