Why won't my photos import properly?

I have a Kodak Easy Share C310 digital camera. Whenever I'm trying to import a set of pictures onto the computer, if I'm using a memory card, nothing will appear in iPhoto and all the photos appear to be corrupt in the Easy Share software. It will work fine if I use the inbuilt memory. What's going on?
 
Just use Find to locate the memory card in the camera and copy them to your computer that way.

You will find using a USB 2.0 card reader much easier and faster than plugging your camera into your computer
