yahoo answers seems to be more of a last resort when it comes to repairing my bike. I believe in DIY and never take it to a mechanic.
I have a Honda CD200 Roadmaster, with a recently rebuilt motor. the bike was acting sluggish and i found out that the bike was only running on the right cylinder ( it is a 200cc parallel twin). I opened up the head cover and found the tappet on the right exhaust rocker fell off and was lying beneath. I placed it back in place but the bike doesnt seem to start. here are some details:

1) there is current flowing perfectly in both cylinders,
2) the carburetor is working fine. I cleaned it up again anyway but it still didnt resolve my problem.
3) Is there a minimum compression level required to ignite the cylinders? if i seal my finger on a plug hole, and kick, the compression pops out air so i guess there is enough compression.
4) the points are correctly timed at TDC and there is good spark between the points while kicking.
5) once in about 20 kicks the bike missfires but wont start.
6) I have cleaned the plugs and the plugs give off sparks which seemed good enough to start the bike.
7) I was very sober while working and im sure i didnt mess up anything.

Any comments/suggestions will be highly appreciated. Thankyou

Could anyone guess what could be the problem?

Not sure, but the points should not spark, the condenser is supposed to take care of that, by absorbing the flow when the circuit is broken. If you have even a used condenser around, I would try it in there just to see. I would check that none of the valves are sticking, and the valve clearance is correct. Other than that, I wish you luck with it.
