Why won't my car start?

I drive a 2002 Nissan Sentra with well over 100,000 miles on it. It's been ok so far, but a couple of weeks ago I was trying to go to work and it wouldn't start. It sounded like it wanted to but it never quite made it. I think they say it was turning over and never caught? I don't know...
I changed the spark plugs and it started right up. I drove it around for a few weeks and then tonight I went to leave from work and it wouldn't start again! The same noise and everything. It goes vroom vroom vroom like it's going to start, but it just... doesn't.
What could be wrong with it? Someone said the fuel filer could be the problem. Or the spark plug wires. That made sense to me, since changing the spark plugs fixed it before. But then the guy who changed my spark plugs said I have coil packs (?) so the wires are probably not the problem. Any suggestions?
