Thank you. My husband took off the cover and found a broken pink lever? Does anyone know what it is? If he moves it over with his hand he can get it out of park? Never thought last year when I bought this NEW car I would have sooooooo many problems!
My neighbor had the same problem. She sent it to the dealer, who found a loose wire on the tranny. We all felt kinda dumb for not finding it ourselves. You could also have some broken shifter linkage.

Try putting some foot pressure on your brake pedal before you move the gearchange, there is a micro-switch under it to ensure you don't move off accidentally.
