Why wont media player play films? only film audio?

I downloaded a film torrent, and when it had downloaded i opened it and it only played audio (Windows Media Player) and the same with quicktime.
Any solutions?
 
You most probably don't have codecs used to play ripped (compressed) movies. download the K-Lite codec pack
Or u can use The KM player, VLC player or GOM player
These are thousand times better than the windows media player.
Search for them on google. they are free and quite small...
 
I would suggest using VLC media player. it plays most video types.

and you can download it for free. just google it.
