Why wont excel sum pasted cells?

I have a spreadsheet, its actually a bill. Price list with a colum showing product description and another with the prices. Three summing rows at the end: Subtotal, tax and grand total.

I copy/pasted this spreadsheet to a word document. Then some products changed so I copy/pasted it back to excel in order to calculate the updates in the subtotal / taxes / grand total rows. But the formulas dont work. I erased them and retyped them. They still dont work. The result on all of them is the number "0".

I have tried the "paste special" fix in which all cells are multiplied by one in order to force the cells' format to numbers and still, the formulas dont work. Simple summing wont work. No mathematical forumals work at all.

I try manually typing the numbers on the neighbor column and the sum formula DOES work this way.

What am I doing wrong? Is excel so freaking stupid it cant import spreadsheets via copy/paste without messing up the formulas?? I just cant believe that. Its not like Im using version 1.0. This is excel 2007.

There's gotta be a quick fix for this problem.
Oh and to make it clear. I manually reformated the cells to "numbers" and retyped the formulas. Still, no cigar.
