Why Were People So Unattractive Throughout History?

Clearly beauty is subjective, but if you look at old painting and sculptures of famous people throughout history, they were very unattractive. Obviously this is irrelevant to the mark they have left in history, but can you seriously show me a picture of an attractive person in history? I've yet to see one.
 
Well, at that time, people thought that look was the norm. Of course, now we thinking it's hideous, but the people in the future will look at our pics and say the same thing. That we look hideous. It's all based on the time you were born in.

maybe its because they didnt have what we have today, things like makeup, being able to shower every day, and brush your teeth:P

also, a lot of the girls would pull their hair back so tightly that it would make their hairline go very far back, which is considered unnattractive today.
