culture in the North? Regarding the development of society's in the North...Some helpful tips on how to answer the question I am looking for: The American South was the most "European" of the sections, the southern elite sustained an image of "aristocracy", class structure of the South that shaped its culture, class consciousness meant a rigid hierarchy, but something had to unite, or at least temper, the white classes together. One thing was race southern society was intentionally constructed with the idea of white superiority, it created a truly biracial culture.
