She would be raised in a different culture but aren't there millions of families who move to new countries to start new lives, so their kids aren't raised in the same environment as their ancestors? And Madonna would definitely travel to Malawi enough for Mercy to get in touch with her roots. She has more than enough money to do that. If Mercy's original family wanted to keep her, then Mercy shouldn't have been put up for adoption. The whole controversy was just silly, since through adoption she'd have way more opportunities in life. Especially with such a rich mom like Madonna!

If Mercy's family wanted her so much, why was she in an orphanage in the first place? Madonna would be able to take much better care of Mercy since she has a lot more money. Why should she be denied a life of luxury? She's lucky.
She's still going to visit Malawi a lot, especially since Madonna's making a girl's school there. Who knows, perhaps Mercy would even end up going there when she goes to school, to bond with other Malawi girls. And like I said before, people can live anywhere. My family immigrated to America when I was 6. Its not a big deal.. a lot of families do that.. it actually makes you a better person to have lived in multiple environments, so you can call multiple places home. People migrate.. it happens everyday.
Im glad Im not like the people who've lived in 1 place their entire lives because when you live in multiple places your life is really enriched.
Everyone has problems in their lives. What if Mercy stayed with her father and got HIV or malaria? Or what if with Madonna she becomes a drug taking party girl? There are problematic situations that can occur with both situations. But I feel like Madonna would be a good mom since she really cares about Mercy, unlike Mercy's family apparently. Maybe they just wanted to be paid off, or they're jealous. Lourdes doesn't seem like a bad kid.
