WHY was the term "Global Warming" changed to "Climate Change"?

...and who is credited for changing the term?
Do you believe that environmentalism is now being used predominantly to effect liberal political policies in the USA and in the world, and to what end?
A word of warning: ALWAYS ALWAYS ALWAYS demand a definition to the word "change" before you vote for it or accept it without knowing what "it" is.

Because global warming refers to long term effects.

Republicans, however do not understand long term effects, thus cannot grasp the concept.

Therefore, every time it snows...they claim it is proof that global warming is a sham.

Therefore it was necessary to dumb the term down to the Republican's speed.
 
Because people often confuse weather with climate.

Global Warming isn't an accurate statement, because "Global Warming" effects cold and warm temperatures.

Climate Change is just a more accurate statement.
 
Because the "the Globe" is actually cooling down, however the "crisis makers" of this era, like algore and co. still want money and control sooo...they invent a new term and hope that millions of idiots will stay on board.
 
Because the warming that man has supposedly created seems to have ended, or at least slowed, even with increases in the amount of greenhouse gases being released. They must keep the myth alive..
 
The jackazzes want it both ways...if it gets colder they can blame it on mankind and if it gets warmer they can blame it on mankind
 
It's really very simple. Because Global Warming stopped. So to keep their socialist agenda alive, they've changed it to "Climate Change" so any change in the climate whatsoever can be blamed on man.

Basically, they've set it up so unless the climate remains the same, which has never happened in history, they can blame man for the problem.
 
Wasn't the world supposed to run out of oil by now, and shouldn't we all be dead from swine flu, or the bird flu, or the.....................
Alarmists had to change global warming to climate change because the earth has actually been going into its cooling cycle since 1997. Right on schedule. Just like it did in all of its cycles LONG before the internal combustion engine. Unfortunately, the "greenies" have stuck around and have made their economical damage permanent. They have started a movement based on junk science that we will not soon be rid of, I am afraid...
 
because many people were too dense to understand the term "global warming" was not a literal, exclusive term

my thoughts are that the results of our activities (pollution) are not natural and they are increasing exponentially so we should be proactive and try to limit their impact on the environment before we are faced with a crisis point that may only present limited options.
