Yeah yeah yeah, he did a great Joker in The Dark Knight. He also OD'd, accidental or not. That sends the WRONG message to aspiring actors....Do a few crappy movies, do one or two good ones, then OD so you can get an Oscar for your perfomance. Why was he chosen for the Oscar & not another actor who is ALIVE? It's bad enough that he got the Golden Globe in January. That should've been enough.I'm entitled to my opinions about Ledger. If you read the articles about his death, his OD was ruled accidental to protect his daughter & his family. His family flat out refused to believe he was even on prescription meds. As for being a loon, it takes one to know one. ;)By the way, Kate Winslet was making movies BEFORE she got married. So what if her husband's older? They're not the first couple like that & won't be the last.I disagree, Dana. But you're entitled to your opinion.

Because it was based on what he did, it dont mater what he has done in the past or if he was alive or not

LOL! You are actually suggesting that aspiring actors are going to kill themselves to get an Oscar? That is the most ridiculous thing I have heard on here all night. In any case, you are missing an important point here: Ledger's OD was an accident on prescribed medicines that he took incorrectly. It is not like he was just popping pills. You may as well say that someone who dies in a car accident is a bad example and shouldn't get it. The Oscars are meant for one thing: to reward the best performances of the year. Ledger's death is totally irrelevant to this. If it was irrelevant, dead actors would get Oscars every year. But they don't. Hmm...

Sean Penn was married to Madonna. For all intents and purposes because of that he has slept with 30 guys vicariously and done over 70 drugs. Should he have not won either? Should they strip him for his amazing performance in Mystic River? Kate Winslet is married to an old geezer, uh oh all aspiring actresses will think they can only get roles by boning old money, it has nothing to do with talent. Your a loon.

I sort of agree with you and then I don't. I mean he did give an exceptional performance as the Joker and he really made that Batman movie come to life. However, I do see what your saying, cause really if he didn't die, I don't really think he would of won. Really when does any character from a comic movie, ever win!

Heath DESERVED the award, he did amazing and he should've gotten more for his role in brokeback mountain. As for sending the wrong message, he was not a drug addict of any sort. He was an isomniac who obsessed about every role he took as he tried to perfect it to its best. He's had sleeping troubles since he was very young and had problems finding ways to fall asleep which would include taking a multitude of drugs in desperation to get the sleep he needed. You're an a**.
