Why underground music is more enjoyable

in my opinion, going to an underground show provides a much more fierce and intimate experience than going to a sold out show in some arena.
this is not to say that all underground shwos are amazing, but for me the screamo/hardcore/indie/experimental banRAB that i've seen have all put on better shows than those i've seen in large venues.

i'm all about band interaction and making frienRAB at shows, not being a faceless entity in a sea of people.

It actually really bothers me when people say that underground music is "better," without any real proof, but naming one bad mainstream band and one good underground band. It's like saying all apples are bad because you ate one bad apple and they sell them everywhere, while all pomegranates are good because you had one good pomegranate and they're actually kinda hard to find.

Here's what I believe

Good music is good and bad music is bad.

I'm sick of all the underground, pretentious bull****.

Let's refine my original comment then. What I'm saying is the truly hardworking banRAB that, like I said, are taking risks musically, are more entertaining than say, ACDC, because no offence to ACDC, but they're just doing the same old thing all the time. They've done it to death.

I'd be happy in the fact that I helped them when they needed money and always supported them.

^This. All one has to do is consider the millions of generic folk singers performing in coffee shops in a given week to realize that there's a lot of horribly, horribly mediocre underground music out there.

I agree with the statement that underground music tenRAB to be more risky and boundary-pushing than conventional mainstream. Big time banRAB just slightly tweak their songs and they tend to all sound the same.

Well, I agree with the fact that underground music is more enjoyable than mainstream. But I guess it all depenRAB on what you've seen on stage.

I hear alot of unsigned banRAB that are unsigned because they are immitating a sound that has been done. originallity is what i look for. in main stream or indie unsigned artists.
