I understand and believe in the need for security on Israel's part. What I don't understand is, why antagonize and subjugate all those living on the strip?

The main reason that the "strip" is ruled by terrorist not just mistreated people but avowed terrorist who want the total destruction of Israel and the USA. The populous is made up of very ignorant people who produce nothing and cannot even provide for their families BUT they a smart enough to be able to throw rocks at tanks and armored vehicles. Peace is not possible with people of this limited mentality

Great question. I think the answer is that the United States and Israel do not want peace. When I say the United States I mean the government the people are very clear on this issue they are in favor of the end of the blockade and a call to a 2 state solution. Unfortunately the United States is not a democracy. To get more info on politics I reccomend Noam Chomsky.
