Why the media so biased towards Toyota?

Every car make has recalls now and then.
People are taking it too far now, late night hosts are making a mockery out of the situation. They are putting fear in people's mind.

Toyota is being responsible and handling the situation with care. They will recover soon. I have nothing against American automakers, but they should not be bragging about their vehicles. Ford is doing well now but GM and Chrysler are far behind in quality and reliability..Japanese vehicles have a higher resale value for a reason

What do you think?

Recall aside.....cheap plastic dash boards, misplaced clocks in Corolla's, horrible shifting in Camry transmissions, dreadful electronic steering in Corollas since 2008. Shrunken bodies, very poor and thin seating materials with not enough padding, the list goes on and on. I dumped Toyota long before the recall. All you have to do is look inside one, and you won't be able to wait to get back out of it! And their designs are out right ugly...THESE reasons, COMBINED with the massive lies about brake failures, and uncontrolled acceleration, COMBINED with thousands of complaints for years, COMBINED with the actual DEATHS of human beings is why Toyota is where it is at today. Rich and selfish, and over secure that their product is perfect is what caused their well deserved demise.

I don't see how the media has been biased as far as the recalls are concerned. First there was a recall for corrosion on their truck frames, then it was floor mats, then another for pedals. The media isn't making this up, and if facts happen to put fear into people, it's not the fault of the messenger.

There are some people (Americans, ironically) who seem to hate Americans and American workers, which I don't understand at all. The pedals were made by a company in Elkhart Indiana, but they also make pedals for Honda and Nissan, which don't have a recall on the pedals. That company was making the pedals to Toyota's specifications. Anyone who blames the Americans for this is uninformed about what's happening and probably has some sort of hatred for the capitalist country they live in.

The American companies SHOULD be bragging: Toyota, Honda, and Nissan have done it for years, and the American companies have worked hard to make world class products, and it's time to inform people that some of the best cars and trucks are made by American companies. Many people are misinformed, and perceive Japanese cars as superior to American cars, thus the higher resale value, but that isn't true anymore. Check out JD Power's dependability survey and see how companies like Buick, Mercury, and Lincoln compare.
