so i guess the idea is get a shitload of pumper ships, make a giant slab of crete around the surface out of base material + crete, and let that fucker sink while you chase it with more? the intial slab absorbs the upward pressure eliminating the blowback while the following crete falls on it and holds it in place?
TBH I don't really understand exactly what is going on here. The oil is leaking from this pipe but is this the pipe that is going into the ground and getting the oil?
Funny, this coming from you given that your boy Rand Paul is actually annoyed that Government is doing what little they are on forcing BP to do something about the mess.
And as for how much BP gives a fuck about the fallout: not much, as their current cleanup attempts use sub-par dispersant (half as effective and three times as toxic as competitors) that is made by a company who's senoir management is made up of oil executives.
it's pretty funny that anyone thinks a company would rather watch their profit float into the ocean and create a giant ecological nightmare than fix it.
"hey boss, there's millions of dollars pouring out of this pipe. should we fix it?"
"nah, that macgruber movie is coming out this weekend. let's go watch that instead"
