This is my second day on Suboxone therapy.......cravings for norco/vicodin/oxy....anything. I will not take anything, as I am committed to my sobriety. Could I be on wrong dose? Please no negative responses about Suboxone, as I am in a fragile state and this is my only option for beginning my recovery..thanks to you all:) any ideas of why I'm having these cravings???

A little
dope sick...but mostly .just craving....
I took the 8mg/2mg film this morning at 630, took a half (4mg/2mg?) At 11, took the other half at 4.....I was on a lot of pills before the suboxone so I'm not sure he dosed me high enough with his instructions....

Its been a supportive website for me and its been nice meeting peope like you, too, who have also been through the same issues......some people are very "anti- Suboxone" therapy, and those comments don't help me, especially now as I enter the beginning phases of recovery:)

But are you feeling dope sick?? Has the suboxone stopped you from feeling physically sick?? how many mgs did you take today?

Christine, the most important thing I told you is that you have to work on the psychological issues of addiction in order to be successful. Suboxone is a wonderful tool and helped me immensely over the past 6 months. Your dosage amount is fine. Less is more with suboxone and you must start to taper down once you stabilize. I guarantee right now if you didn't have the suboxone you would be sick as a dog. You seem to be doing ok even though you have cravings. Those will dissipate over the next few days. I told you that the sub will not give you the warm glow of hydro but will alleviate the physical symptoms. So please start to look at what you are going to do to help your mental well being in order to be successful. I have decided not to go back on suboxone next week after I am done with my percocet script as I want to be drug free. That is the only reason and it is not because I do not think it is a bad drug or tool to use.

Are you really CRAVING? Are you just wanting that high and just want the feeling of "taking pills"? I guess that could be considered craving. I hate to hear you are having such a hard time. Just try to keep busy doing something that you love. I really do think that every day will get better for you. It's tough, I know. I'm so sorry.

I hope you have an easy withdrawal as you begin recovery again. Today is day 3 on Sub for me and I am feeling clear headed.....no cravings.....its gonna be a good day!

Hi!
You are having the cravings because it is psychological....after a certain therapeutic dose (after you take it for a few days)...the cravings should subside. And the psychological part is the part that you will need to work on....its the habits...you crave the habit....and it takes about 21 days to break a habit...so stay commited to your sobriety. When a thought comes into your head...do something quickly. But, some candy...i was a drinker....but in my opinion it works all the same with addiction. i bought the mini resees cups and ate them like crazy when I had cravings....it passes the cravings...with or without the candy the cravings get less as time goes by. TIME is the swear word of recovery...everything takes time...your only on day 2.....I don't mean to put it that way...DAY 2 is fabulous...think about it.....you couldn't go one day without the subox...so give yourself some credit...think positive....a craving lasts about 3 minutes....so for the first few days..you may have a minute of peace between every 3 minutes...but as TIME goes by and you stick with your commitment...it will get easier. I promise!
